Children in Need

On Friday 17th November the Sixth Form held our annual autumn fayre for Children in Need. This year weChildren in Need logo had some brilliant new additions to the activities and games on offer, and the photo booth was a particular highlight as well as the popcorn stall which sold out in 10 minutes!  Some good old classics kept the students coming back for more such as ‘Ball Pong’, the hot chocolate café, pin the mask on Pudsey, splat the rat and penalty shoot-out. There was great participation from the whole school and the stalls were constantly buzzing with excitement, despite the freezing temperatures!  Some excellent music, (and at times impromptu dancing!) was also provided by the Sixth Form students from Mr Cook’s tutor group and that really Children in Need 1helped set a wonderful charitable atmosphere.  The event was well attended by all year groups and as a result we managed to raise a brilliant £780 on the stalls alone. Considering the fayre only lasts for 50 minutes during lunch that is a fantastic achievement.  Coupled with the mufti day money, we are pleased to say that the Sixth Form have raised a total of £1583.47 for Children in Need, and other charities.

A huge well done and thank you to all involved for yet another fun and successful Children in Need event. Particular mention must go to the Sixth Form Social Committee for their hard work in promoting the event around school and in assemblies, as well as for their help in setting up and packing away so quickly from a whole-school event. It really was more led by them than we have seen in the past, so well done!
