Annual Business, Accounting and Skills Education Competition

Six of our Year 12 and 13 students attended the Southampton Heat for this year’s Annual Business, Accounting and Skills Education competition which was held at St Mary’s FC, Southampton on Thursday 24 November. They showcased the vital skills needed for business, impressing some of the biggest names in the retail industry and accounting profession including; PWC, Ernst and Young (EY), Bournemouth University and Manpower. They embraced the opportunity to network with professionals, gaining an insight into what it is like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and explore alternative career paths into employment.

Our students did exceptionally well against stiff competition from the grammar school and independent sector and finished in third place against 20 competing teams. They did themselves and our school proud and the judges were really impressed by their presentation style and confident manner in which they approached the activity.

I would like to pass on my congratulations to the following students: Eve Goldsack, Bethany Welch, Oliver Howard, Jack Simms, Sam Clarke and Adam Dunsford. Well done!
